This piece focuses on the remnants of the old West Pier head, destroyed by storms and various fires over the decades. Now just a collection of metal framework rusting in the salty sea air. I always felt it seems a stark contrast to the soft, soothing ocean below, a figure of history left to be taken by the powerful water below. i have used fibreglass offcuts o build the depth and structure of the breaking wave on the shoreline in this piece, helping me to re-purpose a waste product into my art.
