The stretch of shore by the old West Pier is not only a surf spot, but also an eery reminder of the old pier, now destroyed by the sea and various fires. Four old posts from the walkway on the sand line are the only reminder of the structure other than the old metal work out at sea. I have used offcuts of fibreglass in the breaking wave for this piece, to build the depth and crest of the wave crashing to shore, re-purposing a waste product into art.
